Measure Wear Resistance of Rubber
Our company has 17 years of experience in manufacturing testing equipment. The ZY-1002 Akron Abrasion Tester is designed to measure the wear resistance of vulcanized rubber. It complies with GB/T 1689 standard and is widely used in rubber and tire manufacturing industries for quality control.
The machine tests wear resistance by rotating the rubber sample against a grinding wheel under a specified angle and load, and measuring the wear volume over a set distance.
The force applied to the rubber wheel is 26.7 N (2.7 kgf). The rubber wheel shaft speed is 76 ± 2 r/min, and the grinding wheel shaft speed is 33–35 r/min. The angle between the two shafts is adjustable from 0° to 45°.
Simple Operation with Auto Stop
The Akron abrasion tester uses an aluminum oxide grinding wheel with grain size 36, clay binder, and medium-hardness grade 2. The grinding wheel size is 150 × 32 × 25 mm.
The test sample is a strip with a width of 12.7 ± 0.2 mm and a thickness of 3.2 ± 0.2 mm. Both sides of the sample must be polished before being attached to the rubber wheel. No tension should be applied during installation.
The rubber wheel has a diameter of approximately 68 mm, a thickness of 12.7 ± 0.2 mm, and a hardness of 75–80 Shore A.
The machine features digital setting and display of wear cycles and stops automatically when the preset count is reached.
The mechanical system and electrical control are integrated into one unit, featuring a compact and user-friendly design.
