Double-head Slicer

The double-head slicer prepares standard cylindrical rubber specimens with a nominal diameter of 16 mm and a height of 10 mm. It combines ring cutting and thickness trimming in one specimen preparation machine for rubber plasticity testing.

It is used in rubber compounding laboratories, manufacturing quality-control rooms, and research institutes that prepare repeated plasticity specimens from vulcanized or conditioned rubber blocks. The two-head layout supports routine batch preparation where a consistent specimen form is required before the plasticity test.

Dedicated standard-specimen tooling. A 16 mm ring cutter and 100 x 20 x 1.5 mm single-edge circular knife are installed for the standard specimen format. When multiple operators prepare plasticity samples, fixed tooling removes the dimensional uncertainty of hand-trimming and reduces rejected pieces.

Separate feed strokes. The left feed stroke is 50 mm and the right feed stroke is 65 mm. The two working sides provide dedicated travel for the ring-cutting and trimming stages, allowing the specimen to be formed without repeated manual repositioning against a loose blade.

Stable cutting speed. The spindle operates at 1400 r/min with 180 W input power. For repeated cuts through conditioned rubber, the fixed speed maintains a consistent cutting action and helps preserve the circular edge and parallel top and bottom faces.

Cutter geometry. Ring-cutter aperture, circular-knife thickness, and replaceable cutter dimensions can be produced to an approved specimen drawing when the required plasticity sample differs from the standard format.

Specimen locating parts. Feed stops, holding blocks, and guide surfaces can be matched to the source-block dimensions and the laboratory's preferred loading direction.

Electrical and operator details. Voltage, frequency, control labels, nameplate language, and external guarding details can be adapted to the receiving facility's specification.

Tool and spindle inspection. Cutter dimensions, spindle runout, mounting security, and protective covers are inspected before trial operation. Both feed mechanisms are checked for full travel without lateral looseness.

Finished-specimen check. Trial specimens are prepared and measured for diameter, height, face parallelism, and edge condition. The two processing sides are checked together to confirm that the completed sample is suitable for the intended plasticity test.

Pre-shipment operation. The motor, switches, feed movement, fasteners, and guarding are examined during a loaded cycle. Every machine receives a full inspection before packing.
